There are many companies and consultants that specialize in the Management of golf courses and their individual profit centers, but our approach to management is one of a kind. Based on our combined experience in the golf industry of 50 years, Lynn Fry and Al Bechtel have devised a unique, yet exacting program, the results of which far exceeds all of the other programs in the golf world. The system has been field tested in not only the U.S., but also throughout the world.
In a “nut shell” we select for your approval the primary staff and with the guidance of our operating experience, developed manning tables. The primary staff selects their respective assistants and we then teach the entire staff the proper way to manage your golf course. But that “nut shell” explanation leaves out the very pertinent details that make a major contribution to the management of your course.
We begin, with your direction and research your goals and objectives for the entire operation. That is accomplished by asking for the answers to hundreds of questions related to how you proposed to operate the golf course, including each of the operating components. We “price out” your answers, giving you insight as to the financial impact of your proposed operations. That initial investigation usually leads to sometimes significant changes. Once the goals and objectives have been established, we submit the Plan of Operations to the architects, designers, engineers, planners, contractors, employees and owners representatives.
Next we assist the owner to develop the Club documents, followed by meetings with all of the development professional personnel involved in the development of the facilities. Special emphasis is given to the kitchens and bars especially in the interior designs, for appropriate furnishes, sizing and specifications.
We next assume the start up responsibilities by preparing department budgets, recommend stocking inventory, develop organization charts, develop personnel policies including job descriptions. As required, recruit personnel, with the approval of the owner and create and implement training of all personnel, including the primary staff. Develop a complete accounting system, secure bids on golf carts, supervise all management personnel, create food and beverage concepts and where required, monitor membership marketing programs. Provide input to Owners membership and marketing consultants including graphics, logos, letterheads, envelopes, signage, brochures, press releases, etc.
In each of the above, we establish parameters, agendas and establish time lines to accomplish each of the goals, all with the approval of the Owners.
Usually we are with you three months before the course is opened and three months after it is opened, thereby relieving the owner of significant time commitments, but retaining for the Owner the right of approval over all of our actions and guidance.
